Source: Daily Press, Victorville, Calif.儲存倉Sept. 05--VICTORVILLE -- City officials decided Tuesday night to hold their public meetings an hour earlier to make attendance easier for parents and their kids.City Clerk Carolee Bates said the open sessions for the Victorville City Council meetings will be changed to 6 p.m. from 7 p.m. -- but only on a trial basis."The council decided last night to try a pilot program from now to the end of December, where the regular meetings will start at 6 p.m. rather than 7," Bates said.Bates said the city will not have to amend its ordinance, which sets the time for council meetings at 7 p.m., because the time change will be on a trial basis.The city will legally handle the shift in time by adjourning each one of their regular council meetings to 6 p.m. at the next meeting."We will post a notice of adjournment with each agenda, stating that we will start at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m., and we will do this for every meeting until they decide if the time change will be permanent," Bates said.Bates said that the idea was brought up by Councilwoman Angela Valles with "the primary 迷你倉價錢eason being that people had expressed an interest in bringing their kids to the public meetings and exposing them to the civic process."In this way, the earlier meeting time would "better accommodate people who cannot get there at 7 p.m.," Bates said.She also said that the city council's closed session will continue to begin at 5 p.m. for the first and third Tuesdays of the month. If council members do not finish their closed session discussions before the new 6 p.m. open session time, they will continue their closed session items after the regular meeting ends.The council will holds its meetings the first and third Tuesdays of the month in the City Council Chambers at 14343 Civic Drive in Victorville.In other business Tuesday, the council approved a helicopter landing pad for Desert Valley Hospital.
