Source: The Oregonian, Portland, Ore.mini storageAug. 12--The Banks City Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. to discuss the performance of interim city manager Jolynn Becker. The council is first scheduled to evaluate Becker's job performance during an executive session at 5:30 p.m. Then during the regular meeting, the council will make any decisions that come out of the executive session.Mayor Pete Edison said he's not sure the council will get as far as to decide whether they should conduct a new city manager search.City officials had chosen to hold off on deciding that decision until after budget season was finished. They set aside $25,000 in the 2013-14 budget in case the council chooses to do so.Edison said the decision depends on Becker's review and the ensuing conversation."The first step is to do her annual review, then we'll just go from there," he said. "I think decisions and actions will come relself storagetively quickly after we've determined how she's doing her job."Previously the city recorder, Becker took over the position in November after former city manager Kyle Awesome resigned when questions arose about the validity of his resume.Other items on the agenda:The council is scheduled to conduct a second reading on whether to create a combined parks, recreation and tree board. Banks currently has a separate Tree Board and Parks Commission. Edison said the resolution will likely pass.Michael Nelson, a member of the Banks planning commission and library board, applied for the City Council position left open when former councilor Craig Stewart resigned in July. Edison said it is very likely Nelson will receive the council's approval.--Andrea CastilloCopyright: ___ (c)2013 The Oregonian (Portland, Ore.)
